Inbreeding Policy: Editorial board members will limit the publication of manuscripts to one (1) by volume when the publisher is the first author of the article and two (2), when it is a secondary author. For the same institution or author, the limit will be one publication per number, ie maximum 3 publications per volume. However, publications for authors affiliated with the Universidad de los Llanos will not exceed 50% by number.

 

Policy Antiplagio: The act of copying other people's works without giving the corresponding credits is an unacceptable behavior and cause of rejection for any type of manuscript submitted for publication. Orinoquia includes in the editorial process the review by means of software that measures the degree of similarity comparing with documents published and indexed in electronic databases and any internet resource. Authors who are detected this action on a recurring basis, will be studied by the editorial committee with the possibility of being vetoed in the journal.

 

Copyright Policy: The authors who publish in the journal are eligible for the non-commercial, non-derivative creative commons 3.0 license code.

 

Ethics in Publication: Submission of an article means that it has not been previously published, that it is not being considered for publication in any other medium (except thesis and degree work) or in any other language and that it is being submitted with knowledge of all Authors. Failure to do so violates Orinoquia's ethics policies. The material published in the journal reflects the opinion of the authors and not that of the editors of the journal. No articles on animal testing that do not have the respective permits of the ethics committee will be published.

After the manuscript has been accepted, all authors must sign a Publication Agreement. An email will be sent to the correspondence author confirming that the manuscript was received with a copy of the Publication Agreement or its respective link. Orinoquia must be requested to reproduce the content of an article published in the journal.

 

Conflict of interest: Authors must state that they have no potential or actual financial, personal or other conflicts with other persons or organizations within the next two years after submitting the article, which may negatively influence the work performed. See the "Conflict of Interest" form in the Open Journal System.

Before the article is published on-line, the correspondence author can request the Editor to add, remove or modify the order of the authors. Periodicity and Editorial Process: The journal is Open Access and publishes every six months in Spanish and / or English. The published works are the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Orinoquia or the Institution to which the authors belong. Articles not approved for publication will be returned to the authors accompanied by the editorial concept and evaluations made by academic peers. Peer review is conducted with external juries when the manuscript commits authors of the institution, and is not affiliated or linked in order to obtain unbiased opinions. When submitting the article, each author / co-author must enclose a certification where they state the knowledge and acceptance of its content. During the review process the authors must make the necessary adjustments to the manuscript. No changes will be accepted once the manuscript is diagrammed for publication.

Peer Review Process: Each submitted manuscript is initially subject to the evaluation of the specialist editor (first filter), followed by the submission of a request for revision to at least 4-6 possible reviewers (assigned one- three days after submitting the manuscript), then The evaluation of at least two (2) national and international academic peers. The reviewers will have a maximum of four weeks to evaluate the manuscript. Based on the responses received from the reviewers, the editor will make a decision within 10 days. Authors should respond to comments issued by reviewers within a period of no more than 20 business days through the publisher response form. Corrected articles will be returned to the editor for feedback. Once the article is accepted by the publisher, the corrected version is revised for English, and Spanish use, before undergoing the process of layout and final editing (20 days). Authors must return final editing corrections within 8 business days. The author must approve language style and suggestions. A final edition is made, the author can not submit further amendments to the text. Typically, articles will be published "first online" within 20 to 30 days from the date of acceptance by the journal. Reviewers should have international publications on the subject and the doctoral degree to be selected.

 

 

Open Access Policy: This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that providing open access to research helps a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving: This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among partner libraries, allowing them to create permanent archives of the journal for conservation and restoration purposes. 

 

Ethics: DECLARATION OF ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICES

The editorial committee of Orinoquia is committed to high standards of ethics and good practices in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge, to ensure rigor and scientific quality. That is why it has adopted as a reference the Code of Conduct that, for publishers of scientific journals, has established the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE), among which it is highlighted:

Relations with the authors: Orinoquia is committed to guarantee the quality of the material that publishes, informing about the objectives and norms of the magazine. Editors' decisions to accept or reject a document for publication are based solely on the relevance of the work, its originality and the relevance of the study in relation to the editorial line of the journal.

The journal includes a description of the processes followed in the peer evaluation of each work received. It has a guide of authors in which this information is presented. This guide is regularly updated and contains a link to this ethical statement. The right of authors to appeal editorial decisions is recognized.
The publishers will not change their decision in accepting shipments, unless irregularities or extraordinary situations are detected. Any change in the editorial team members will not affect the decisions already taken, except in exceptional cases where serious circumstances occur.

 

Relations with evaluators: Orinoquia provides the evaluators with guidance on what is expected of them. The identity of the evaluators is protected at all times, guaranteeing their anonymity.

 

Peer review process: Orinoquia guarantees that material submitted for publication will be considered as confidential and confidential subject matter while being evaluated (double blind).

 

Claims: Orinoquia is committed to responding quickly to complaints received and to ensuring that unsatisfied claimants can process all of their complaints. In any case, if the interested parties fail to satisfy their claims, it is considered that they are in their right to raise their protests to other instances.

 

Fostering academic integrity: Orinoquia ensures that the material it publishes conforms to internationally accepted ethical standards.

 

Protection of individual data: Orinoquia guarantees the confidentiality of the individual information (for example, of the participating teachers and / or students as collaborators or subjects of study in the presented investigations).

 

Follow-up of bad practices: Orinoquia assumes its obligation to act accordingly in case of suspected bad practices or inappropriate behavior. This obligation extends to both published and unpublished documents. Publishers will not only reject manuscripts that raise doubts about possible misconduct but are considered ethically obligated to report alleged cases of misconduct. All reasonable efforts will be made from the journal to ensure that the work under evaluation is rigorous and ethically sound.

 

Academic Integrity and Accuracy: Whenever any published work is found to contain material inaccuracies, misleading or distorted statements, it must be corrected immediately.
In the event of any fraudulent work being detected, it will be withdrawn as soon as it is known, immediately informing both the readers and the indexing systems.
The following are denounced as inadmissible practices, and as such the following will be denounced: the simultaneous sending of the same work to several magazines, duplicate publication or irrelevant changes or paraphrasing of the same work, or the artificial fragmentation of a work in several articles.

 

Relations with owners and publishers of journals. The relationship between publishers, publishers and owners will be subject to the principle of editorial independence. Orinoquia will always ensure that articles are published based on their quality and suitability for readers, and not for economic or political benefit. In this sense, the fact that the journal is not governed by economic interests and defends the ideal of free access to knowledge, universal and free, facilitates such independence.

 

Conflict of interests. Orinoquia will establish the mechanisms necessary to avoid or resolve potential conflicts of interest between authors, evaluators and / or the editorial team.

 

Complaints / Complaints. Any author, reader, evaluator or publisher can send their complaints to the competent bodies.
